About Rach
At parties, I like to tell people that my favourite number is three because (this is true!) adding the digits of any multiple of three produces another multiple of three. Try it. Inevitably, I end up with a pen and paper in my hand showing the proof to those around me who end up interested.
It sounds cliché the more you hear it - but I do see math as a language that is used to describe the world. I resent the way that it's often taught in schools, where students don't get to experience the things that make it beautiful and interesting - but that's where I come in. I hope that when we work together, you'll be able to see what I see!

My approach to tutoring is holistic. Students shouldn't have to just memorize the steps to reach the right answer, but to actually understand how the steps are used and play in. To do this, it's important to foster curiosity while learning, and make sure to have a little fun with it too. I am familiar with a lot of cool math proofs and interesting tricks to keep my lessons interesting and engaging.
