About Finn
Hi, I’m Finn, a Maths tutor and current student at the University of Leeds but originally from Brighton. I’ve always enjoyed Maths, but more importantly, I enjoy helping other people understand it too. I know from experience that the right support can make all the difference, not just to your grades, but to how you feel about the subject. I remember how much more enjoyable and effective lessons were when I liked the teacher, when they were passionate about the subject and genuinely wanted us to learn and grow. That’s exactly the kind of tutor I aim to be: someone who’s encouraging, enthusiastic, and fully invested in helping you succeed. I tutor because I want to help students build confidence and see that Maths doesn’t have to be something to dread. With the right approach and a bit of patience, it can become something you actually enjoy. I’m friendly, reliable, and committed to tailoring each lesson to suit your needs and goals.

My approach is calm, supportive, and student-focused. I aim not only to help students understand the material but to enjoy the process of learning. I believe that when lessons are engaging and progress is visible, confidence follows, and that’s when real improvement happens. I structure my teaching around each student’s individual goals, learning style, and pace. Together, we’ll set short- and long-term targets, and I’ll build a regime that keeps them motivated with regular rewards and clear signs of progress, whether that’s through quick wins, weekly check-ins, or longer-term goal tracking. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and take place online. I tutor students aged 11–16, covering Key Stage 3 and GCSE Maths. I’m currently studying at the University of Leeds and have experience working with students one-to-one and in small groups.
