About Kirsten
I am a head of maths and lead practitioner of maths who has been a maths teacher and tutor in Scotland, Australia and England for 8 years. I have taught and tutored up to A level maths and am a current examiner for the AQA exam board. I have a very deep understanding of the maths courses so know the key topics pupils need to focus on. I specialise in preparing students for success in 10+, 11+, pre-test 13+, 13+, GCSEs, A-level and IB, and homeschooling.

I am extremely approachable and I am always open to questions. I try my very best to use a number of approaches, depending on how the individual likes to learn. I have a great love for maths and I always try to pass the enthusiasm on when I am tutoring and teaching. I try to ensure the tutees feel at ease to ask any questions they might have without feeling I will judge them in any way. I use a system of using papers to uncover weak areas, followed by teaching time on specific topics in order to help pupils improve in key areas. I break topics down and explain them in easy ways so pupils can understand even the most complex areas. I am extremely approachable, energetic and patient.

Kirsten tutored my daughter for her GCSE maths. We really wanted her to get a grade 9 so she would be the best prepared for her A levels that she could be. Kirsten took the time to really get to know her weaknesses and did an amazing job helping Lily work out what she needed to do to get a grade 9. We are continuing her tuition for A level maths as it's been so beneficial. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
