About Paolo

I have graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc (Hons.) in Mathematics and Computing Science, and I am currently studying for my Master's degree in Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory at the Leiden University and Université de Bordeaux.

I have prior experience in teaching: I worked as a private music teacher, as a primary school maths teacher, as an online tutor for programming... My goal is to make my students bridge the gap between just learning facts and packaging them into a personalized, intuitive concept.

About the lesson

I am passionate about mathematics, especially when I can understand and make understand at an intuitive level. I want my students to achieve the same level of confidence—and, ideally, interest—in these subjects.

My lessons are flexible and I can adapt to your needs. For example, I can go through a fixed curriculum to prepare for exams, or offer more unstructured support to work specifically on areas you're struggling with. Or I can even just offer a deeper insight into subjects you might be interested in without necessarily preparing for examinations.

I believe that the only way to learn something effectively is to engage in active learning (producing content rather than just consuming it). Moreover, especially when it comes to maths, I think gaining an intuitive understanding of the underlying concepts is much better than limiting oneself to memorising information or mechanical procedures. All of this is what I try to implement in my lessons.
