About Isla
I hold a Bachelor’s in Mathematics Education from the University of Colorado Boulder and have 7 years teaching experience focused on middle school, high school, and early college students. Over 5 years of that work has been one-to-one online tutoring, where I designed stepwise lesson plans, quick diagnostic checks, and confidence-building exercises. I’m known for calm pacing, clear examples, and helping students move from “I can’t” to “I get it.”

My math lessons are crafted to remove the fog and replace it with a simple, reliable map. I begin by listening to what you already know and what trips you up, then we build upward from tiny, certain steps. Algebra becomes a set of translations you can read, Geometry becomes visual reasoning you can sketch and trust, Statistics becomes a way to tell meaningful stories with numbers, and early Calculus becomes an intuitive look at how things change and accumulate. I never rush; I always check for understanding and reframe explanations until the idea sits naturally. I bring practice that reinforces thinking — not rote memorization — and small problems that grow gradually into bigger skills so students feel secure and ready for tests or college classes.
