About Elise
My interest in mathematics began in early education when I was captivated by numbers, patterns, and problem-solving. This passion led me to pursue a Master’s in Applied Mathematics, deepening my knowledge in algebra, calculus, statistics, and applied problem-solving methods. Over the past 9 years, I have taught students across diverse levels, helping beginners build confidence and advanced learners refine analytical and logical skills.
I structure lessons to suit each student’s learning style, ensuring that foundational concepts are mastered before moving to more complex topics. Beginners explore basic operations and reasoning, intermediate learners tackle multi-step problems, and advanced students refine proofs, applications, and analytical skills. I emphasize patience, clarity, and fostering curiosity, encouraging learners to approach challenges with confidence and resilience.
Beyond the classroom, I engage in mathematical research, applied problem-solving projects, and real-world modeling exercises, integrating these into lessons to make learning relevant and practical. Watching students gain understanding, build confidence, and develop critical thinking skills is profoundly rewarding. My goal is to cultivate independent thinkers who not only excel academically but also approach problems with curiosity, analytical skill, and lifelong appreciation for mathematics.
