About Joanna
With two decades of experience as a teacher and professional tutor, I've worked with all kinds of learners - elementary, high school, first-time college students, and returning adult learners. Also, as a part of the disability support community, I have experience and successful techniques for those working through ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety and personality differences, and physically limiting disabilities. When I was in high school, math in general was the bane of my existence until I found a teacher who taught the way I learned. With that teacher's help, I was able to climb to the top of the class and pursue more difficult classes because I had a firm foundation and an arsenal of learning tools. This is what I do for my learners.

I've helped adult learners rediscover forgotten knowledge and successfully pursue new careers. I've watched students who were failing and overwhelmed overcome the odds and challenges and walk across the stage to receive their diploma. And I've seen the light bulb moments happen for an elementary student learning about fractions for the first time.
