About Maria
I am an enthusiastic and dedicated mathematics tutor with experience in tutoring students at the GCSE level. I am looking to take on students in Mathematics and non-verbal reasoning. I recently received a distinction in my master’s degree in Mathematics from Oxford University and am currently completing a PhD in Mathematical Modelling and Cancer Research in Barcelona. While at Oxford, I worked as an outreach ambassador and volunteered with school students with additional needs, which enhanced my ability to connect with diverse learners. My logical thinking and problem-solving skills enable me to break down complex concepts into manageable steps, making learning accessible and engaging for my students.

My teaching methods are to break down complicated questions into easier to understand parts to help explain homework or topics which are challenging. Additionally, I like to make the teaching engaging and rewarding by talking to the children throughout. I believe it's key to engage the student and get them to participate and practice questions as well as listening to explanations.
