About Caleb
My journey into mathematics education began with a desire to help students overcome fear and frustration around numbers. I earned an M.Sc in Mathematics Education, where I studied curriculum development, learning psychology, and effective teaching strategies for diverse learners. Over the past 11 years, I have worked extensively with students in elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths, helping them build confidence and competence through structured guidance. I teach with empathy, patience, and clarity, recognising that each student learns differently. I use visual explanations, step-by-step problem breakdowns, and real-life examples to ensure understanding. Many students who once felt anxious gradually develop independence and confidence as they learn to approach problems logically and systematically. Outside teaching, I design practice materials, study modern education research, and explore advanced problem-solving techniques. These efforts help me continuously refine my approach. Teaching mathematics is deeply fulfilling because it empowers students with skills that build confidence, resilience, and lifelong learning ability.

Mathematics becomes approachable when students understand how concepts connect and build upon one another. In my lessons, I guide learners through elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths, using structured explanations that emphasise reasoning and conceptual clarity. I focus on helping students understand why methods work, rather than relying on memorisation, which builds long-term confidence and independence. Lesson plans are adapted to each learner’s level. Beginners develop number sense, arithmetic fluency, and early algebraic thinking. Intermediate learners strengthen geometry reasoning, algebraic manipulation, proportional analysis, and multi-step problem-solving. Advanced learners focus on SAT maths strategies, logical shortcuts, time management, and complex problem analysis. Guided practice and reflective discussion are central to every lesson. Maths lessons also support broader cognitive development. Students gain patience, confidence, and structured thinking habits that extend beyond mathematics. As learners improve in algebra and geometry, they approach challenges with greater calm and clarity. My goal is to help students trust their reasoning abilities and develop skills that support academic success across subjects.
