About Irem
I'm Irem, a Maths Graduate, and the reason I enjoy teaching maths is because I believe it's a subject which can be accessible to all learners despite their current level or feelings about their abilities.
I am passionate about creating a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing in their understanding.

My lessons are calm, structured and fully tailored to each student, with a strong focus on inclusive learning. I break topics into precise, clear steps, use worked examples and plenty of practice, and check understanding regularly so students feel safe to make mistakes and ask questions.
I work as a Teaching Assistant in the inclusion faculty at a secondary school, supporting autistic students and learners with a range of additional needs in Maths. I've also worked part‑time at Kumon for over six years, supporting learners in Maths and English and helping them build strong core skills and independent study habits. This experience means I am confident adapting explanations, pace and resources to different learning profiles and sensory needs.
A typical lesson is between 30 minutes to 1 hour and includes a quick warm‑up, working on key topics, and a short review at the end so students know what they’ve achieved and what to focus on next.
