About Iris
My passion for Mathematics began with an early fascination with patterns, logical structures, and problem-solving. I pursued an M.Ed in Mathematics Education to deepen my understanding of teaching strategies and advanced mathematical concepts. Over the past 12 years, I have guided learners from elementary school math through middle school, SAT math preparation, and introductory Calculus, helping them transition from uncertainty to confidence in their mathematical abilities. I teach with patience, observation, and adaptability. I adjust explanations to each student’s learning style using visual models, real-life examples, and stepwise reasoning. I foster a classroom environment where questions are encouraged, and mistakes are considered opportunities for growth, helping learners develop resilience and self-assurance. Beyond the classroom, I remain actively engaged in mathematics through problem-solving, curriculum development, and continuing study. Teaching Math is highly rewarding because I witness learners gain clarity, independence, and logical reasoning skills. Supporting students in recognizing their potential and achieving mastery is the most fulfilling part of my work.

Mathematics becomes far more meaningful when students are encouraged to understand the reasoning behind each concept. My lessons cover elementary school math, middle school math, geometry, algebra, SAT math, and Calculus, emphasizing structured thinking, clarity, and gradual skill-building. I guide learners step by step, helping them connect concepts and develop problem-solving confidence. Lessons are calm, supportive, and designed to reduce anxiety around complex topics while fostering curiosity and resilience.
Lesson content is tailored to the learner’s level. Elementary school math focuses on number sense, arithmetic, and interpreting word problems. Middle school math introduces geometry, proportional reasoning, and foundational algebra through interactive exercises. Advanced learners tackle algebraic techniques, SAT math strategies, and introductory Calculus concepts, emphasizing logical reasoning, accuracy, and practical application. Carefully selected practice activities reinforce learning and support steady progress.
Maths lessons also cultivate patience, perseverance, and analytical thinking. As learners gain understanding and clarity, they become more independent and confident when tackling unfamiliar challenges. Many students begin to see mathematics as structured, achievable, and rewarding. My goal is to help learners feel capable, confident, and motivated to excel in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
