About Lydia
In my lessons, we explore advanced theoretical mathematics with a gentle and reflective approach. I am a Maths tutor with over two years of experience and a BSc in Mathematics and Economics. My studies led me deeply into non-Euclidean geometry, where the familiar rules of flat space begin to shift in surprising ways. I enjoy exploring curved spaces with students, using clear visual models to make abstract ideas feel concrete. Together, we examine the logic of hyperbolic geometry, where parallel lines behave differently and distances stretch in unexpected patterns. I also guide learners through spherical geometry, showing how great circles reshape our understanding of angles and surface behaviour. Historical context plays an important role in my teaching, as it helps students see how these ideas emerged from centuries of questioning and discovery. This approach supports learners who are curious about abstract geometry, theoretical physics, or the philosophy of mathematics.
