I’m Anna, an experienced tutor who enjoys helping students understand their work clearly and confidently. I work with children and teenagers and focus on building strong foundations, reducing learning stress, and developing independent thinking skills. I focus on clarity, confidence, and understanding, not memorisation. My goal is to help students actually grasp what they’re learning so they can work independently and with less stress.
I adapt my teaching to the student in front of me. Some learners need concepts broken down slowly and visually; others need to be challenged and pushed to explain their thinking. I adjust pace, language, and structure to suit each student’s learning style, attention span, and goals.
I place a strong emphasis on:
* understanding why something works, not just how
* building problem-solving and thinking skills
* reducing anxiety around schoolwork and assessments
* Teaching methodology & techniques
* Step-by-step explanations using clear, concrete examples
* Active questioning to check understanding and correct misconceptions early
* Scaffolding: starting with guided support and gradually removing it
* Visual aids, diagrams, worked examples, and real-world connections
*Encouraging students to explain ideas in their own words
I’m patient, calm, and structured — especially with students who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or “bad at school.”
A typical session looks like this:
Quick check-in – what the student is working on, what’s difficult, and what they want help with
Targeted teaching – breaking down the key concept or task together
Guided practice – working through problems or questions step by step
Independent attempt – the student applies the skill with support as needed
Wrap-up – clarifying next steps and reinforcing what was learned
Lessons are flexible and adjusted in real time based on how the student is responding.
