Hello! I’m Andrew, a dedicated music educator with over 15 years of experience teaching piano to students of all ages and abilities. I’ve held long-term teaching roles at Francis Holland School for Girls and Thorpe House School for Boys in London, where I’ve guided students through ABRSM and Trinity exams, ensemble performances, and personal musical growth. My teaching philosophy is rooted in clarity, encouragement, and musical excellence. I tailor lessons to each student’s goals—whether that’s mastering technique, building confidence, or preparing for auditions and exams. I believe music education should be both rigorous and joyful, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel inspired to explore and improve. Now based in Melbourne, I’m excited to connect with new students and share my passion for music. Adaptive approach to lessons to suit individual needs. Lesson length varies depending on the age and level of the pupil. Suggested lesson length for beginners is 30 minutes. I teach all levels and ages and have 15 years experience teaching in schools.

Andrew would be a great trumpet teacher because he is a really good player himself as well as being kind and caring to all people, especially his students. He can teach and inspire and be flexible in his approach. So for those who do not love the “cookie cutter” teachers, he is highly recommended.
It's been years since I picked up a trumpet. Andy was very patient and encouraging of me as he gave me my first lesson and I fumbled through relearning all the notes. Highly recommend you couldn't learn from a better player or more patient teacher.
Andy is a reliably excellent teacher. We met studying at the Royal College of Music in 2016 and since then have worked together both teaching and playing on many occasions. His teaching style is warm and open, with a tailored approach depending on the student. I would very highly recommend Andy as a teacher!
