About Cristian

Hi there! I'm Cristian, an enthusiastic and dedicated Experimental Medicine Masters Candidate at the University of British Columbia. My journey into the world of science has been both personal and academic, driven by a passion for understanding and improving human health.

My Background
I have a strong academic foundation in biological sciences, with a research focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). My work in this area is deeply important to me, and I've been involved in significant research projects such as STOP COVID IN IBD, IMAGINE, and Pfizer's ASCEND studies.

My Expertise
Throughout my academic career, I've gained extensive experience in medical sciences, immunology, and data analysis. My current research involves identifying microbiome-based signatures to predict therapeutic responses in Crohn's disease patients, aiming to develop tools for more precise and effective management of IBD.

My Teaching Philosophy
- Interactive Learning: I make lessons engaging and hands-on.
Personalized Approach: I tailor sessions to fit each student's unique learning style.
- Real-World Applications: I connect concepts to real-life scenarios to make learning relevant and interesting.

Beyond the Classroom
- Outside of academics, I am committed to community involvement and raising awareness about IBD. I strive to support and advocate for others facing similar challenges and am passionate about improving the lives of individuals with digestive diseases.

Why I Tutor
Tutoring is more than just a job for me—it's a way to share my knowledge, inspire others, and make a positive impact. I find great joy in helping students understand complex concepts, achieve their academic goals, and discover their own passion for science. Whether you're looking to boost your grades, prepare for the DAT, or simply gain a deeper understanding of your coursework, I'm here to help you succeed :)
