About Sarah
My name is Sarah and I am a recent Masters graduate living in Brighton. I achieved a First for my BA in Anthropology, and a distinction for my MA in Gender, Violence, and Conflict. Whilst I primarily work as a Gender Consultant in International Development, I also tutor students wishing to gain confidence in the subject. I have spent time working with students who have struggled with essay writing, understanding specific concepts, or struggling to meet the requirements for exams or University applications. I have thoroughly enjoyed helping students to realise their potential and achieve their learning outcomes. I seek to help students release their potential and passion, and in this way, I have learnt so much from my students in turn.

My lessons are entirely tailored to the needs of the student. I primarily focus on supporting students with essay writing and preparing for exams, encouraging students with their strengths to foster a well-informed and enthusiastic approach to the subject and to enable the student to apply learnings to exams and external testing.
My lessons focus on building confidence and allowing students opportunity for one-to-one teaching. I tend to ask students to bring previous lessons, ideas, essays, or exam papers that they are struggling with so we can work through the solution together.
My lessons are best tailored for students studying GCSE, A Level, or are starting at University.
I have experience of teaching group sessions to secondary school students and to University students. I have additionally supported international students who speak English as a second language at both primary school age, and at Masters level.
My lessons are an opportunity to overcome challenges and specific problems in order to achieve specific learning outcomes and grow a passion for the subject at hand.
