About Leo
My violin teaching approach celebrates the cultural richness and stylistic variety that make music a truly global language. I weave pieces from global folk traditions, early Baroque ornamentation, and jazz phrasing into our lessons to give students a wide and exciting musical palette. From the earthy rhythms of Eastern European folk dances to the expressive slides of Appalachian fiddle, each lesson is a new adventure in sound and story. We focus on flexible bow speed to shape mood and texture, and explore stylistic intonation that suits each genre's character. Students learn how to phrase idiomatically—whether it’s the delicate trills of a French sarabande or the swung pulse of a jazz line. I help students who love to perform with flair and emotion learn how to express themselves authentically across genres, not just imitate. For those who thrive on crafting musical journeys, I offer tools to build structure and flow in cross-style playing. We break down stylistic elements clearly, connecting technique with expressive purpose. Each piece becomes a canvas for tone color, rhythm, and personality.

I’m a passionate violin tutor with 3 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Strings (Violin). My teaching blends the structure of the Suzuki method with the freedom of modern improvisation. I believe every student has a unique musical voice, and my goal is to help them discover and express it.
With me, you’ll build solid foundations in intonation, confident bowing, and rhythmical accuracy. I’m all about clarity, consistency, and creative exploration. Lessons are tailored to your learning style, whether you're just beginning or ready to dive deeper into your artistry.
I love working with students who are curious and open to trying new techniques. My sessions include traditional repertoire, ear training, and improvisation games to keep things fun and engaging. We’ll work together on developing a strong musical ear and intuitive sense of phrasing.
