I have more than 20 years of experience in teaching Spanish. Spanish as a Second Language Classes (SSL) ¡Aprende español con propósito, fluidez y confianza! Teaching Method and Techniques My approach is rooted in communicative and immersive methods, prioritizing real-life language use over rote memorization. Classes are: Interactive: Emphasis on dialogue, listening, and cultural context. Contextualized: Grammar and vocabulary are introduced through authentic scenarios. Multisensory: We integrate visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning to reinforce language naturally. Reflective and Progressive: Students are encouraged to track their progress, build on prior knowledge, and apply critical thinking through comparisons with their native language. I incorporate: Task-based learning (e.g., planning a trip, ordering at a restaurant) Role-play and storytelling Visual prompts and short texts Songs, videos, and news articles tailored to language level Mind maps and vocabulary building with roots and cognates A Typical Lesson Plan Includes: Warm-Up (5–10 min) Quick conversation or vocabulary game to activate prior knowledge.
