About Gunter
I am a post-graduate researcher in biochemistry, currently developing new analytical methods for studying defects in mitochondrial metabolism at M.Sc. level. I have tutored several informal classes uf up to five students, written a guide on how to approach a research honors degree and successfully mentored two hons. & several final year B.Sc. students.

My teaching method is integrative and application-oriented, since I am a big-picture thinker with a keen sense for practical application. I teach using video tutorials revolving around imagery and grasping larger concepts prior to adressing specifics. I focus on the critical links of different abstract theoretical parts and their relation to a whole. How to summarise and conceptualise large amounts of information is thus one of the primary problems I adress. Extending theory to laboratory, industrial and medical applications to make the knowledge tangible is another main focus. Live skype lessons and Q&A panels also to be made available soon.

Gunter helped me with biochemistry during my entire university time period. He's knowledgeable, very patient and explains the work excellently.
I studied pharmacy at the NWU potchefstroom campus and this man was always a go to for any questions I had (not just biochemistry). He explained everything in full detail and went the extra mile to help me understand.
He had a holistic approach to his answers and almost always left me with something to think about. His knowledge in other fields gives him an edge that I believe few other people have.
Gunter has a passion for knowledge, philosophy and most of all biochemistry and he never fails to evoke the same passion in others.
