About Marissa
With over 4 years of experience teaching Spanish to college students, I am passionate about making language learning both engaging and accessible. My teaching style focuses on adapting lessons to each student's unique learning preferences, whether they are visual learners, auditory learners, or prefer hands-on practice. I believe in creating an interactive environment where students are encouraged to use Spanish in real-life situations, making the language come alive in a meaningful way. I use innovative methods, including role-playing, immersive conversation practice, and multimedia resources, to help students grasp vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. I also integrate cultural studies, allowing students to explore the rich history and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries while learning the language. This approach not only improves fluency but also deepens students’ understanding of the language’s cultural context. Patience and empathy are at the heart of my teaching. I work with students at their own pace, providing the support they need to succeed and build confidence. My ultimate goal is to help each student not just learn Spanish, but to truly connect with the language and enjoy the process of discovering a new culture.

My teaching approach for Spanish focuses on adapting to each student's learning style, ensuring that lessons are both effective and engaging. Patience is key in my teaching style; I understand that mastering a new language takes time, and I create a supportive environment where students can progress at their own pace.
I also emphasize problem-solving, encouraging students to think critically about the language and its structures. This helps them not only memorize vocabulary and grammar but also apply them in real-life situations. Outside of Spanish, I can also teach related subjects like pronunciation, phonetics, and cultural studies, which enrich the language learning experience. My goal is to make learning Spanish enjoyable, interactive, and rewarding for all students.
