My teaching approach:
Is student-centered and adaptable, focusing on active engagement, critical thinking, and real-world application.
I incorporate a blend of evidence-based strategies, including case-based learning, guided questioning, and interactive discussion.
Lessons are structured around Bloom’s taxonomy to promote higher-order thinking and ensure that students move beyond memorization to application, analysis, and synthesis.
I use multimedia resources (videos, simulations, and clinical scenarios) to appeal to different learning styles and maintain motivation.
Continuous formative assessment through quizzes, reflection, and feedback helps identify learning gaps and reinforce understanding.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Topic: Example – “Management of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)”
Duration: 60 minutes
Introduction (5 min) – Brief review of prior knowledge and learning objectives.
Engagement (10 min) – Short clinical case scenario or video to spark interest.
Concept Exploration (20 min) – Guided discussion with visuals, highlighting pathophysiology, assessment findings, and interventions.
Application (15 min) – Small-group activity: develop a nursing care plan or interpret ABG results.
Reflection & Review (10 min) – Summarize key takeaways, address misconceptions, and assign a short reflective question or follow-up reading.
This structure maintains a balance between theory, interaction, and practical application.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
What distinguishes my teaching is my ability to connect theory to clinical practice and tailor content to each learner’s needs. I emphasize critical reasoning, not rote memorization, ensuring students can apply concepts confidently in real life settings. My clinical bedside background allows me to bring authentic examples into teaching, making lessons both relevant and memorable.
Additionally, I build a supportive learning environment that fosters confidence and curiosity, especially for students who may feel intimidated by complex material. I integrate evidence-based teaching tools, frequent feedback, and mentorship to promote continuous improvement.
My lessons are designed for:
Undergraduate and graduate nursing students (Associate, BSN, or MSN levels)
New graduate nurses transitioning into clinical practice
Healthcare professionals seeking continuing education in critical care, medical-surgical, or evidence-based practice
Students preparing for NCLEX or specialty certifications
Each lesson is adjusted based on the learner’s background, experience, and goals to ensure optimal comprehension and engagement.
