About Taryn
With over 20+ years of teaching experience and more than 5840 students successfully mentored, I have helped learners transform their musical ambitions into meaningful accomplishments. My teaching experience includes beginners discovering music for the first time, advanced students preparing for examinations, performers seeking refinement, and aspiring professionals pursuing long-term musical development.
Many former students have achieved outstanding examination results, earned music certifications, participated in competitions, performed confidently in recitals and concerts, and advanced into higher-level music programs. My piano lessons are built around the idea that every learner can develop both technical mastery and artistic confidence when provided with the right guidance and structure. Training includes keyboard fundamentals, posture and hand positioning, scales, arpeggios, sight reading, rhythm development, music theory, ear training, improvisation, accompaniment techniques, repertoire studies, composition foundations, and performance preparation. Lessons are carefully customized to match each learner's strengths, goals, and musical interests.
Students participate in technical development exercises, musical interpretation workshops, listening analysis activities, improvisation sessions, sight-reading practice, performance simulations, and guided practice planning. Lessons are designed to help learners understand the structure and language of music while building confidence through continuous achievement and practical application.
Advanced learners focus on complex classical and contemporary repertoire, advanced harmonic analysis, composition projects, accompaniment mastery, collaborative performance skills, recital preparation, recording techniques, performance psychology, and professional musicianship. This comprehensive learning experience helps students become versatile musicians capable of excelling in a wide range of musical environments.
