About Giovanna

Hi! I'm Gio, a singer and actor based in New York City. I hold a Master of Music from New York University with a concentration in Vocal Performance: Music Theatre. I have been surrounded by music since birth, and to say music is everything to me is still an understatement. I started teaching in high school when I took over teaching our choirs due to a teacher emergency. I adapted on the fly and ever since then, I have fallen in love with sharing music with others. Not only do I currently host acting/voice coaching lessons for people of all ages, I also have been tutoring fellow classmates in music theory through high school, undergrad, and my Master’s. Now, I want to help an even wider range of folks who are eager to learn what music is and how awesome it can be!

Students learn to analyze text, identify objectives and subtext, and use vocal tone, body language, and intention to convey character and emotion. It's not just about singing beautifully, it's about embodying the character and telling a story that resonates with the audience. Music Theory Lessons: From the basics (notation, rhythm, intervals) to advanced harmony, ear training, and analysis. Great for students preparing for exams, or anyone wanting a deeper understanding of music. I met Giovanna during a karaoke night where I jokingly made the comment that I need singing lessons. She offered her services and now I went from being what I would call tone deaf to being a competent singer. She is a patient and enthusiastic teacher with gifts she can share with students. Also she’s a great singer so having the pleasure to hear her singing was another reason I signed up for her class. 10/10 would highly recommend.
