About Dana
My name is Dana McDowell, and I have a Master of Library and Information Science degree. My undergraduate major is History. I teach Grades 5-9 Social Studies. I am experienced teaching US History, World History, Geography, Ancient Civilizations, and European History. I am also able to teach English as a Second Language.

My goal with each lesson is to try to make history tangible and connect to modern times. We need to know why we need to know history. History goes beyond rote memorization of names and dates, but rather we study history to explore the overall meaning of being a global citizen.
