About Heather
I hold a Professional Master’s of Education in English and CSPE and a Bachelor’s degree in English and sociology, both from University College Dublin. I have worked as an assessment specialist for a leading English language learning company for over three years. My teaching experience spans multiple post-primary schools in Ireland, Vietnam and abroad. I have worked for the State Examinations Commission as examiner, reader and superintendent. Additionally, I have provided home-school tutoring and taught ESL both in classrooms and online. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, spending time in nature, travelling and learning about different cultures, foods and languages. I’m passionate about helping learners develop their English skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

I offer engaging, student-centred English reading and literacy lessons tailored to each learner’s age, needs and goals. With a Professional Master’s in Education, a Bachelor’s in English and over 10 years’ teaching experience in Ireland and abroad, I support learners of all levels from children to adults. My lessons typically last 60 minutes and use evidence-based methods, including phonics, comprehension strategies and scaffolding techniques. I create a supportive and motivating environment where students are enabled to build confidence, fluency and critical reading and literacy skills.
