I am a dedicated guitar tutor with over 6 years of experience teaching students with learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, and anxiety. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music (Guitar) and have a strong background in music therapy and special education principles. My teaching approach is adaptive and strengths-based, focusing on each student’s unique abilities and learning style. I believe that music is a powerful tool for building confidence and personal growth. Through personalised lessons, I help students of all levels discover their potential and enjoy the process of learning guitar. I emphasise patience, creativity, and encouragement, ensuring a supportive environment where challenges become opportunities. My teaching approach centres on building strong guitar skills through practical, hands-on learning. I focus on fingerstyle techniques and help students develop control, tone, and expression. Alongside solo playing, I emphasise ensemble skills like group coordination, rhythmic layering, and real-time musical interaction to prepare students for playing with others confidently. I work closely with students who have a bold, independent style, encouraging them to explore creative freedom while maintaining solid technique. For those who enjoy fingerstyle, I provide exercises that improve finger independence and accuracy. Lessons are designed to be fun and engaging, mixing theory with plenty of playing time. I include topics like chord progressions, timing, and improvisation to build a well-rounded musical foundation. Playing with others is a big part of my teaching, so I incorporate group exercises and jam sessions to enhance listening skills and teamwork. My goal is to help every student find their own voice on the guitar and enjoy making music, whether they’re playing alone or in a group. I support growth at every step with patience and encouragement. Together, we work on skills that help you stand out and feel confident in any musical setting.
