About Nilima
Hello, I'm Nilima, a Psychology graduate from the University of Essex with a passion for helping students learn, grow, and achieve their goals. I began tutoring at the age of 18 and have since worked with learners from a variety of backgrounds, supporting them to build confidence, improve their understanding, and reach their full potential. I believe that learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style. Alongside my academic background in psychology, I have experience supporting young people and understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and creating a positive learning environment. Whether you need help mastering a subject, preparing for exams, improving study skills, or building confidence, I am committed to helping you succeed. Outside of teaching, I enjoy baking, painting, go-karting, and bowling. These hobbies have taught me the value of creativity, perseverance, and having fun while learning qualities I aim to bring into every lesson. My goal is not simply to teach but to support and guide you throughout your learning journey. I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals and making the process both enjoyable and rewarding.

My teaching approach is informed by psychological principles and evidence-based strategies that support learning, confidence, and personal development. I have knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), which is widely used to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and can also help children with attention and executive functioning difficulties. I believe that effective learning happens when students feel understood, supported, and motivated. My lessons are tailored to each student's individual strengths, needs, and learning style, with a focus on making learning engaging, enjoyable, and meaningful. Whether the goal is improving academic performance, developing study skills, increasing confidence, or overcoming learning challenges, I aim to create a positive and structured environment where students can thrive and reach their full potential.
