About Owen
Hi! I’m Owen, a language teacher from Ireland with several years of experience helping students of all ages build confidence in their studies. I’ve worked as a language assistant in schools and vocational colleges, and as a private tutor supporting learners from primary to university level. Living and studying in Galicia has given me a deep connection with Spanish language and culture. I recently completed a master’s degree in Local Government and Public Policy at the University of Santiago de Compostela, and I’m currently preparing for the Celga 4 exam in Galician. Because I’m also a language learner, I understand the challenges students face and how to turn them into opportunities for progress. I believe lessons should be supportive, motivating, and adapted to each student’s needs. Whether you’re preparing for exams, want to improve your grades, or simply wish to gain more confidence using Spanish in real situations, I’ll guide you with patience and practical strategies.

Looking to improve your Spanish for school, exams, or everyday use?
I offer engaging and supportive Spanish grinds for secondary and university-level students. Having lived and studied in Galicia for several years, I bring first-hand experience of the language and culture into my lessons. I’m currently preparing for the Celga 4 exam in Galician, so I understand the challenges and strategies of language learning from a learner’s perspective as well as a teacher’s.
My approach is flexible and student-focused:
Exam preparation & school support: structured practice in grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing.
Speaking confidence: conversation-based activities to develop fluency and natural expression.
Cultural insights: exposure to authentic Spanish usage, idiomatic expressions, and cultural context to deepen understanding.
I have 4 years of experience teaching languages to learners of all ages, from children to adults, both in classrooms and one-to-one. I adapt lessons to your level, whether you need steady support to build confidence, intensive revision for exams, or enrichment to push your Spanish further.
Each grind is tailored to your needs, ensuring that you not only improve your grades but also gain real confidence using Spanish beyond the textbook.
