About Liana
My teaching approach is lively, practical, and culture-focused. I use French cinema, media clips, and real-life dialogues to make lessons engaging and meaningful. We read aloud, analyze scenes, discuss cultural topics, and practice grammar—all in ways that feel natural and motivating. I work closely with immigrants, newcomers, and professionals, helping them explore French culture while mastering the language. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style. Watching films, discussing ideas, and applying language skills allows learners to gain confidence quickly. I break down complex grammar and vocabulary into simple, digestible steps. Students learn to write clearly, speak confidently, and understand subtle nuances in French communication. Each session is interactive, encouraging curiosity and expression while keeping learning enjoyable. By combining culture, media, and practical exercises, I help students excel beyond textbooks. The focus is always on progress, clarity, and confidence. Together, we turn challenges into real growth, one scene, one phrase, and one discussion at a time.

I’m a dedicated French tutor with over 7 years of experience and a BA in French for Tourism and Hospitality. I specialize in helping high school and university students who find French film analysis and dialogue writing challenging. My approach is creative and hands-on, blending language learning with the art of cinema.
I break down complex cinematic language into simple, digestible steps, making even the most intricate scenes approachable. From analyzing symbolism in French New Wave classics to crafting authentic dialogue, I guide students to write with clarity and expression. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s pace and learning style.
I have a deep passion for French New Wave, contemporary cinema, and critical theory, which I bring into every session. Watching films together allows students to engage with language and culture naturally. I encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and expressive writing, helping students gain both understanding and confidence.
My goal is to make film studies exciting rather than intimidating. I love seeing students grow from hesitant learners into confident critics and writers. If French cinema has ever felt overwhelming, I’m here to help turn those challenges into cinematic confidence—one scene, one phrase at a time.
