About Xin
I got my Bachelor degree in teaching Chinese as a second language in 2008. I got my Master in Linguistics in 2011. I started to teach Chinese as a second language in 2009. I worked for Peace Corps China as a Language and Culture Facilitator for 2 summer and 1 winter. I worked as a Chinese teacher in Southwest University of Finance and Economics for 4 years. When I moved to United States in 2013, I became a para and long term sub for Chinese immersion program in Excelsior Elementary School in Minnesota. I started to work in DoDEA school in 2020, my students are from PreK through 5th grade.

Usually I evaluate student’s language level through small talks. I believe getting to know my student is really important, what’s their interests, motivation and goals etc. can help me design my lessons for each individual to achieve their goals. I take notes during class to track the student’s growth. I provide feedback after certain lessons to help student see their growing.
