About Taylor
Hi, my name is Taylor and I am a horn player from Calgary, Alberta. I am currently a Master's candidate at the Manhattan School of Music. I completed my Bachelor in Music Performance at the University of Toronto. I have experience teaching both workshops and lessons.
I have experience performing in chamber music, orchestra, opera and band settings. I have recently performed with the Berlin Opera Academy, the University of Toronto's Contemporary Music Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra and I was a featured soloist in the Calgary Youth Orchestra's performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 5.
I am passionate about teaching and I have experience teaching horn to junior high and high school aged individuals. Along with that experience, I spent many summers teaching children aged 2-10 through Pedalheads bike camps, as well as one summer as a site manager.

I am happy to teach youth and adults in any stage of their horn playing experience. We can delve into anything from technique and the fundamentals of playing the instrument to working on developing musicality and finding your voice on the instrument.
I have experience teaching children of all ages, but I am happy to work with adults as well. I offer either 30 minute or 1 hour lessons online.
In our lessons, we will generally start with a warm-up and then transition into technique and then repertoire. We can work on improving general skill, preparing for auditions, or any other goal that you may be working towards.
