With 12 years of dedicated experience in Bharatanatyam, my practice consistently involves mastering new steps and exploring intricate choreography. Each lesson refines my technical prowess, emphasizing foundational elements like achieving the perfect aramandi and executing precise mudras. My Bharatanatyam classes are structured to give you a comprehensive learning experience, drawing from my 12 years of training and choreographing numerous dances. Each session begins with a 10-15 minute invocation and warm-up, preparing our bodies and minds. We then dedicate 20-30 minutes to refining basic adavus and mastering the aramandi and various mudras, crucial for building a strong foundation. Next, for 15-20 minutes, we delve into intricate rhythmic sequences (jathis and theermanams), enhancing our precision and timing. The core of the class involves 30-40 minutes of choreography practice, where we learn new pieces or refine existing ones, focusing on detailed steps and expressive storytelling. For applicable items, we'll spend 15-20 minutes on abhinaya, exploring facial expressions and emotional conveyance. We conclude each class with a 5-10 minute cool-down and recap, ensuring proper physical recovery and reinforcing what we've learned.
