As a family member, I strongly recommend Yiwei as the most responsible and passionate Mandarin teacher. She cares about students, always be on time and flexible to accommodate with students’ learning and schedules. I have been taking individual lessons generally 2 times a week with Yiwei for about two school years. I started with her after I moved to a new school. I had heard Yiwei had taught at Vermont Commons School just before I moved there. I spent almost 6 years living abroad in Beijing, China, so I was having difficulty finding the existing school curriculum in Chinese language classes challenging enough. I looked into getting lessons outside of school to enhance my learning and add to my experience in Chinese classes. Yiwei has been incredibly helpful in finding curriculum that works best for me, including: HSK 4 and 5 books, AP Chinese books, and an American Mandarin Society course on professional development in the Chinese workspace. Yiwei has adapted and been accommodating through exploring all of these curricula, and I feel incredibly grateful to have access to her as a teacher and Chinese language mentor.
