About Joshua
Hello! I'm Joshua, an engineering graduate with a passion for making Maths and Science easier to understand. Over the years, I've discovered that one of the most rewarding experiences is helping someone grasp a concept they once found difficult.
Outside teaching, I'm fascinated by engineering, technology, sustainability and how science shapes the world around us. I enjoy solving problems, staying active through fitness, and I'm always learning something new; qualities I try to bring into every lesson.
Whether you're aiming to improve your grades, prepare for GCSEs, or simply build confidence in Maths, Chemistry or Physics, my goal is to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Every student learns differently, and I believe good teaching starts by understanding the person behind the grades.

Many students don't struggle because they lack ability—they struggle because the topic hasn't been explained in a way that works for them. My lessons focus on making Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics simple, engaging and practical by breaking complex ideas into manageable steps. Through clear explanations, worked examples and plenty of opportunities to ask questions, students build understanding rather than relying on memorisation.
Lessons are tailored to each student's learning style and goals, whether that's improving confidence, catching up in class or preparing for GCSE exams. Sessions typically last 60 minutes and include exam-style practice, problem-solving techniques and regular feedback to track progress.
I hold a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Renewables and a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, and have gained formal classroom teaching experience. Lessons are suitable for KS3 and GCSE students, with a patient, supportive approach that helps learners gain confidence alongside stronger academic results.
