About Lyndsey
I am a community artist, teacher and the founder of Wild Roots Movement. I work in the field of contemporary dance, yoga, physical theatre, education and community arts in the UK. I have spent the last decade working in Higher Education as a full-time Lecturer in Performing Arts, teaching interdisciplinary performance, improvisation, contemporary dance technique, physical theatre and choreography to undergraduate and postgraduate students. I have had a lifelong devotion and passion to learning about the body through movement, creative practice and performance. I have trained in a range of movement practices including yoga, dance, kickboxing and capoeira. I have shared my teaching, performance and choreographic practice internationally. I hold a BA in Performing Arts, an MA in Dance Performance and Choreography and a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training.

What classes do I offer? Contemporary Release Technique/ Floorwork/ Soft acrobatics/ Improvisation/ Choreography/ Physical Theatre/ Acting Vocal and Physical Training Yoga and Mindfulness (meditation, breath work, asana practice)/ Audition Training (access to higher education and vocational schools). Each session will depend on your desired needs and goals, if it's a movement session, I normally start with grounding the body, moving into shorter exercises that develop areas of technique, these may include mobility/coordination/improvisation, working towards longer technical exercises and phrases. If it is a vocal/movement for actors workshop, we will start with warming up the voice and body through various acting training techniques and tools, exploring characterisation through physicality and introducing text. Qualifications: BA Performing Arts (1st class) MA Dance Performance and Choreography Yoga Teacher Training Mental Health First Aid Training Teaching Approach All the sessions are tailored to your needs, I am adaptable and plan the sessions in relation to the learner's level and desired goals. I use various teaching methods and approaches, depending on the individual's learning style. I may include visual, audio resources and reflective practice. Everyone and anyone is welcome to my sessions, I encourage students from a range of backgrounds, ages and abilities. I believe in sharing my knowledge through an authentic, fun and challenging learning environment. The sessions: 1to1 Studio sessions- Falmouth 1hour, online (zoom) Space- I am teaching from my living room, I want the classes to be as accessible as possible so will be doable in a two metre square space, the practice has a key focus on adaptability. Perfect! Lyndsey has been a gift to me as a teacher. She was exactly what I was looking for. Lyndsey is a highly passionate as well as extremely professional teacher.
