Oxford biologist, experienced teacher and tutor specialising in A Level Biology. Using my knowledge of exam specifications, study skills and how to communicate effectively I work with students to change their grades and confidence quickly.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Although I have taught all 3 sciences, and tutored Biology at all levels, I now focus entirely on A Level Students. This has allowed me to really specialise my resources and ensure absolute certainty in what I am delivering. I am passionate about Biology, and this tends to be passed across even to my more reluctant students!
I have been an examiner for AQA A level Biology, and work most often with this course. I have also taught the OCR syllabus and worked to students to A* in this.

- How much do you charge?
£40ph
For A Level I advise that sessions are 1.5hours to maximise effectiveness and allow time for exam question practice. Happy to discuss arrangements that suit the student though. For regular students, I also offer between session marking of exam questions and papers to consolidate progress.
- Where do you teach?
I am based near Potternewton Park and prefer to tutor students in my home office. In some cases, I might be prepared to travel to you - please get in touch to discuss.
- When are you available?
I have a couple of evening spaces and work Saturday mornings. Please note, I don't take on many students per academic year to ensure I can focus on those I have. I will remove my advert when my spaces are filled.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
AS and A2 Biology.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I know Biology is a tricky subject, and can be frustrating, but there are so many hints and tips that will help you get your grades matching your effort. I am quite often the second or third tutor for my students, so I know that not all tutoring experiences are that positive! There is no pressure from the first session - I always say it is a 2-way trial for us to make sure we can work well together. My students brighten up my week, and I love tutoring and sharing my passion for Biology - I am a classified animal and plant nerd, and will convert even the biggest-Biology hater in time! Studying is a lot more enjoyable when you make it fun, and I aim to do that (all to boost your grade, of course).
