About Jacob
I am a law student at Columbia Law who achieved a 174 on my second LSAT. I believe LSAT studying is a journey that takes time, and requires practical test-specific skills as well as a personalized approach to get in the right frame of mind. As your tutor, my aim is to offer a patient and understanding guide, to sit with you along your journey and make the process as comfortable as possible. On my own LSAT journey, I studied 400+ hours and experienced multiple tutoring types. I started with an average diagnostic score and worked my way up to a 174 throughout two exams, learning along the way that the key for me was structure and mental framing, especially for RC and LR. Since then, I have tutored some friends, and practiced teaching them the same principles: prioritize understanding concepts to build your structural understanding and establish the base level score you want (jumping from 145-150 diagnostic to 160-165 is very attainable with the right fundamentals), and focus on the right mental framing that works for you thereafter (this is where 170+ is unlocked). My aim is for you to leave our sessions not only with a better understanding of the test, but a better understanding of yourself in relation to the test just as well.

To jump into the 160-170+ range is very attainable with the right fundamentals and mental framing. I'm here to help you do that, just as my tutors helped me.
From there, take a diagnostic test to evaluate where you stand, and highlight which areas to focus on.
We will then analyze your focus areas together during our first session and create a plan moving forward.
Throughout our time together, I will ask that you: keep up your practice, explain your thinking, and voice your needs whenever they arise.
In return, I will: communicate straightforwardly, be honest with regard to score expectations, identify and cover any concepts you need to focus on, ensure you feel you have support every step of your journey.

Perfect! Jacob is an excellent LSAT tutor, he is incredibly patient and dedicated and know's very well how to cater to your individual needs based on your knowledge base, understanding and where you are currently in you LSAT studies. After having spent over a year of self study my scores finally started increasing at steady rate once I started to receive tutoring from Jacob!
