About Philip
I love music, reading, and traveling. One of my passions is also meeting new people and learning about new cultures. In my free time I like to spend time with my family and explore new places. I am born in India but educated in the US. I have my Master's in Music from Baylor University and hope to study more in the future!

I teach piano performance and music theory using a holistic approach. I used the Faber Piano Adventures Method books that cover all aspects such as performance, sight-reading, theory and more. I am interested in developing a musician and not just teaching pieces and scales. The process is more important than the product, and so I focus on strengthening the foundation by teaching musical elements through written and aural mediums. My classes are tailored to all ages so they are as inclusive as possible. For beginner students I use Trinity/Abrsm theory books and for advanced students I use Tonal Harmony by Stefan Kostka.
The general flow of my class is as follows:
warmup activity (listening or sightreading), Concept teaching #1, Activity, Concept teaching #2, activity, Piano performance, Closing.
