About Rachel
I have been in a relationship with the piano for over thirty years now and have been singing for as long as I can remember speaking. My first songs were written on a karaoke machine in elementary school and my latest songs have been recorded with my two original projects (Sister Ivy and balm.) and released into the world. I have years of classical piano and classical voice training under my belt, coupled with the unconventional learning that comes from late night jam sessions and the reckless musical experimentation they inspire. I have been playing cover songs in wedding bands for about 6 years and have lent my talents to numerous cover bands and original projects for a decade plus (including a Mars Volta and a Jamiroquai cover band). I have recently been inching into solo piano and vocal gigs, playing jazz standards and American songbook favorites in hotels and restaurants.
