About Alizeh
I grew up listening to my grandfather’s captivating stories about the Russian and Ottoman Empires at our dinner table. Those evenings sparked a lifelong passion for History. I took History for my IGCSE and A Levels and received an A* for both. I was awarded the Cambridge International Examination "World Distinction" / "Highest in the World" Award (outside of Britain) for AS Level History. I pursued a dual degree (BSc in Business Administration and BA in History) at the undergraduate level, graduating with High Honours. During my degree, I began tutoring and quickly realised how much I loved not only learning about the past but also sharing that passion with others. After graduation, I became a World History teacher at a Sixth-Form College, where I taught for three years while also offering private one-on-one and group lessons. Eager to keep learning, I pursued a Masters in Global and Imperial History at the University of Oxford, followed by a DPhil (PhD) in Intellectual History. While completing my doctorate, I thoroughly enjoyed teaching undergraduate students Indian and Middle Eastern History at the faculty. I graduated from Oxford this summer and am now excited to continue teaching while working on publishing my first book. My Subject Focus: - Non-British History with strengths including: Cold War History, German Unification, Italian Unification, Nazi Germany, French Revolution, Russian Revolution, Middle Eastern Colonial History, Indian Colonial History, League of Nations, Soviet History, Vietnam War, Korean War, Origins of First World War, etc. My approach: - I strongly feel that lessons need to be tailored to the needs and requirements of each student - I love using visual and auditory aids in my lessons to engage students - I believe a primary source-based approach is the key to better historical learning and analysis My lessons: - 1.5 hour to 2 hour lessons for in-depth learning - Age groups: 16-18 years, IGCSE, AS and Advanced Level
