When it comes to teaching I believe that building a good understanding of any topic is similar to building a house. One needs a good foundational knowledge of a topic before they can understand more nuanced aspects of the topic. I also believe that the best way to learn is to identify patterns within a subject and understand why such patterns exist, and learn according to that as it helps one develop a more profound understanding of the subject matter.
