About LISA
I have been teaching for just over 30 years. I have clear CA single-subject teaching credentials in both English and Spanish. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Spanish at Loyola Marymount University, and a Master’s Degree in Spanish at Long Beach State University, where I also obtained my CA administrative services credential, and doctorate in K-12 educational leadership.My entire career has been devoted to literacy intervention, second language acquisition, and the social emotional development of underserved students.

I have a history of teaching students from elementary through higher education, and I have taught Spanish, English, and English language development. I have worked with diverse students across Los Angeles and Orange Counties. When teaching, I engage students by employing differentiated strategies to reach all types of learners. In my language classes, my students take part in hands-on, real-world application of the target language. They will seamlessly learn about Latin cultures and histories, while learning proper grammar, vocabulary, verb, conjugation, and more!
