About Emmet
Grew up in Ireland, speaking both English and Irish, then picked up French in school which I studied throughout my adolescence, right through college. It was also in college were I studied Latin and Ancient Greek while also learning Russian for about 2 years. I have an immense passion for language learning and linguistics more broadly and I take this energy and enthusiasm into every lesson!

- Teaching methods include reading small sections of text, giving you time to decipher, then working on it together to breakdown known and unknown words and how to understand the latter through context, morphology and etymology.
- A typical lesson will involve listening to an audio sample, reading and figuring out a written sample, then using new words and phrases to finish with a short conversation.
- My background in linguistic theory allows me to view language in a more holistic manner than most FR/EN tutors. I can help you segment sections of language, deal more comfortably with elisions, and understand the logic behind French grammar.
- Lessons are primarily aimed at those currently using French at an A1 or A2 level whether learning for school or fun, as an adult or kid.
