About Natasha
My name is Natasha and I'm from England, UK. I am 30 years old and have a first class honours degree in Linguistics and Philosophy ranking top three in within the school of Arts and Humanities. I also have a Master's in TEFL. From September I will be studying another Master's in Linguistics (by research).
I have taught English in Beijing, Shenyang, Taiyuan (China) and Pleiku (Vietnam) respectively. Now I am back in England working as an online tutor for Preply where I can help students with exam preparation or even just to learn English for extracurricular purposes.
Language has always been a passion of mine since I was very young and hope to meet like-minded students to share this passion and create an excellent course catered to your specific needs.

Reasons why you should book classes with me:
- Firstly, I have been teaching since 2015 with mostly children & teens. I have taught a wide range of subjects in English such as the English language (as a subject/grammar/ESOL), linguistics (phonetics/morphology/history of English).
- I am always learning new things as not only do I have a passion for language, I have a love for knowledge and teaching. I have experience preparing students for the YLE exams, PET, KET, GCSE's and so far my students have only excellent results, as my aim for my students is not only to teach but to create a fundamental understanding of the knowledge they gain.
Who and what I teach:
- I teach the English Language for Native, second and foreign-language speakers. (YLE, KET, PET, IELTS, TOEFL, GCSE, A-LEVEL)
- For native speakers, I teach what is expected and beyond to reach higher levels for GCSE and A levels.
- For Second and Foreign language speakers, I teach following the standards of The Cambridge University Examinations.
- For ages 3-5 (beginner) I used a mixture of videos, activities and colourful engaging imagery to keep the youngest of learners happy and learning.
- For ages 5-16 (A1-C1) I teach English readers using 'Blackcat readers' (a very popular option) where students will engage in a book chosen from my lists based on their current level. Each lesson will consist of reading one short chapter which will then lead to activities to understanding content, vocabulary and grammar exercises and of course some fun exercises too to help with the new content.
- For ages 6-11 (A0-A2) I teach using the Kid's Box exercise books. This is the chosen book for students aiming to do their YLE (Starters, movers and flyers) exams. This is an excellent programme that accounts for all areas of English Language and has resulted in excellent exam results so far.
- For teens and adults, I provide courses for the IELTS exams. Here, students must be at least at B2 level to carry out this course as it is a very advanced level programme that includes 44 lessons (IELTS) OR 35 lessons (TOEFL) of extensive, fast-paced, lecture-style lessons with many relevant activities to do during class. *Students taking this course should be confident with note-taking and general listening. Also linguistics at A level and beyond.
My classes cover speaking, listening, reading and writing. However, depending on your level of English and your personal needs, we may concentrate on the most needed areas. I will provide material that will be completed in the student's own time. I will provide other materials (depending on which pathway is chosen) such as:
