About Ed
I have played piano since the age of six. Over the past 20 years, I have taken on students through a private conservatory and independently drawing on my decades of experience of reading, writing and performing on the piano and other instruments. My prime goal in teaching piano is unlocking the joy and passion for music that I believe is inside every person.

My approach to piano and songwriting is to follow the path my students want to take. For beginners, I teach music notation and gear students for complete familiarity with the keyboard. From there we follow to where the student wants to go. For intermediate students, I do the same thing; following the goals that the student has set and helping to achieve those goals. So many piano teachers stick to what's written on the page. There's so much more to playing the piano. I strive to help students find a love for music and a desire to make their art a lifelong joy and passion.
