About Monica
Hi! I'm Monica, a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with a background in both healthcare and technology.
I earned my Bachelor's degree from Purdue University in Computer Graphics Technology and Virtual Product Integration (CAD), and later earned my Associate's degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. My background in computer graphics and CAD gave me a strong visual and spatial foundation, while my PTA education and clinical experience allowed me to apply that way of thinking to anatomy, movement, and the human body.
I know from experience that anatomy and physiology can feel like an overwhelming amount of information to memorize. I've been on the student side of these subjects, and as a PTA I've also had the opportunity to use that knowledge in a real clinical setting. I enjoy helping students make connections between the information in their textbooks and what is actually happening in the human body.
I want my tutoring sessions to be a place where you can ask questions without feeling embarrassed. If something doesn't make sense, we'll slow it down, look at it from another perspective, and work through it together.
I primarily tutor anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, and related health and science coursework. I'm especially interested in working with students in PTA, PT, nursing, exercise science, athletic training, pre-health, and other allied-health programs.

I believe anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and biomechanics are easier to learn when you understand *why* something works rather than memorizing facts. As a licensed PTA, I've used these subjects clinically and enjoy helping students connect coursework to the human body, movement, and real-world applications.
We'll start by identifying what you're working on and where you're struggling. If you have lecture notes, study guides, or practice questions, I'm happy to work from those so we can focus on what you're actually expected to know.
We'll break the material into manageable pieces using questions, diagrams, examples, clinical applications, and teach-back. If something doesn't click one way, we'll approach it from another angle. My goal isn't just to help you pass your next exam, but to help you understand the material and feel more confident tackling it on your own.
