About Charmaine
Hello future learners! I’m Charmaine, a Pre-University student preparing for medical school with a love for learning and sharing knowledge in ways that feel clear and inspiring. Having studied under the Cambridge system and gained international exposure, I’ve learned to adapt to different environments and connect confidently with people from all walks of life. These experiences have shaped me into a strong communicator with a calm, friendly style someone who makes learning approachable and motivating. To me teaching is about more than just covering material it’s about helping students discover their own strengths, build confidence, and find joy in their progress. Whether it’s English, reading, essay writing or test prep I bring patience, structure, and encouragement to every lesson.

My lessons are tailored to the student’s level and goals whether that’s building reading confidence, improving essay writing, or preparing for exams. I use a step by step approach that combines clear explanations, guided practice, and feedback to ensure steady progress.
A typical lesson lasts 1 hour, but it can be extended to 2 hours upon request. I also take into account the student’s attention span, since learning is most effective when the mind is focused and engaged. Using a balance of teaching, interaction, and short breaks if needed ensures that learning stays effective rather than overwhelming. For younger students, shorter lessons help maintain concentration, while older students preparing for exams may benefit from longer sessions.
In addition to academic support, I also offer guidance in CV writing and creative self-presentation helping students and professionals highlight their strengths with clarity and impact. My approach is not only practical but also creative ensuring CVs, essays, and applications stand out with originality while remaining professional.
I have pursued Pre-University studies both in the UK and through homeschooling, an experience that has broadened my perspective and strengthened my adaptability as a learner and tutor. Along the way, I have developed strong communication and comprehension skills which allow me to explain concepts clearly and connect with students of different ages and backgrounds. My lessons are open to primary, secondary, university, and adult learners, and I focus on creating a supportive, structured environment where progress feels both achievable and empowering. Above all, my goal is to help students build lasting confidence in their English skills while making learning engaging and rewarding.
