About Grace
For as long as i’ve known I’ve had a passion for learning and teaching maths. While this hugely drives me to tutor, I also believe that tutoring should be about getting students to want to learn, which is why I think it is key to have a work/life balance. I understand GCSE’s are a stressful time, trying to balance roughly 10/11 subjects, as well as having time to do what you love is hard. Learning should never be 24/7, and never should excessively stress you out, which is why i believe it’s also important to learn how to relax. Personally, I use music as a way to relive exam stress. I believe finding the balance can make learning time even more effective.

After taking lessons on exam revision through my grammar school, I learned the best way to study maths is by completing many exam questions, alongside a well-known revision technique called ‘spaced-repetition’, which is shown to increase knowledge retention in the long term. With this in mind, I believe an individual study plan tailored to the students strengths and weaknesses, alongside my support and encouragement, would help them to become confident with the subject as a whole.
