About Aishani
Hello there! I'm Aishani, year 13 student studying English, History, and Religion, Philosophy, and Ethics and I hope to take English Literature at university.
Outside academics, I’m a voracious reader and I volunteer at the local library to help young children with their reading. I’m also an avid swimmer, and recently, I've started to knit!
I have completed work experience in two primary schools, where I had the opportunity to engage with young students and witness their incredible potential. Additionally, I had the privilege of assisting in teaching a Year 10 class in my own school, which further solidified my passion for helping others understand and excel in their studies.
My tutoring approach is centered on patience, understanding, and tailored support. I recognize that each student learns differently, and I'm committed to adapting my teaching methods to suit individual needs. Over the past four years, I have worked as a dedicated and personalized tutor, with students aged 8 to 16 years. My main focus has been on English tutoring, and I have taken pride in tailoring my approach to accommodate the unique strengths and abilities of each student.
In addition to my work tutoring younger students, I have also gained valuable experience teaching GCSE level content to Year 10 students. As a teaching assistant, I guided them through difficult areas of study, ensuring that they approached their studies with confidence and enthusiasm. Seeing my students grow in confidence and knowledge has been immensely rewarding.
One of the key aspects of my tutoring approach has been the creation of individualized learning plans. Recognizing that every child learns differently, I ensured that my teaching strategies were tailored to meet the specific needs of each student. I identified areas where they were struggling and developed strategies to address these challenges effectively.
To make the learning experience enjoyable and engaging, I incorporated English skills into various interactive activities. By doing so, the students not only had fun but also absorbed new concepts more effectively, making the learning process enjoyable and fruitful.
Homework has been an essential aspect of my teaching methodology. I carefully planned and assigned homework to reinforce the concepts covered in our sessions, thus helping the students consolidate their understanding and achieve better academic results.
Beyond the academic realm, I also emphasized the importance of fostering a supportive environment. I listened to the concerns of parents about their children's progress and development, ensuring that the students remained at the center of our discussions. This approach created an atmosphere where the students felt valued, constantly supported, and encouraged to strive for their best.
I am incredibly proud of the results achieved by my students. All of my 11+ students successfully passed their exams, gaining admission to the Grammar schools of their choice. Moreover, the Key Stage 3 (KS3) students I mentored witnessed a remarkable improvement of 20% in their results, a testament to their hard work and the effectiveness of my teaching approach.
It has been a privilege to be part of their educational journey and to witness their success and achievements.
