About Beth
I am very passionate about music and I would like to share my knowledge and help others who wish to improve their skills.
I play lots of instruments including Piano, Trumpet, Ukulele and Violin.
I have been playing and learning music since I was 6 years old.
Over the years I have played in a variety of different orchestras, windbands, concert bands and jazz bands.
I have recently completed Grade 5 Theory and I can teach in a variety of clefs and styles such as jazz, contemporary, classical etc.
Ultimately, music should be enjoyed by everyone and people should not be held back from it by not being confident readers.
Music is something to be shared among people that are passionate about it and it makes me happy that I am able to share my knowledge with others.

My teaching method is very flexible. We will first discuss what needs to be worked on and design a plan that suits the student.
Lessons will be tailored to fit the students needs and we will work in the style that the student prefers.
I work with students one on one to ensure that lessons are of value and without other distractions.
I am willing to spend as much time as is needed to improve the confidence and abilities of those wishing to improve their reading abilities.
I am happy to talk to students about any issues they may have with reading music no matter how big or small, regardless of the level of reading or clef.
I can discuss methods of coping with difficult rhythms or strategies to increase reading speed for more advanced readers.
For more advanced students I can also talk about notation that often comes with harder music. We can discuss performance directions, technical terms and a little bit of basic musical theory to get the best out of their reading, if they wish to do so.
For beginners I can introduce people to note reading and teach people to read music for the very first time.
I also hope to improve their confidence with the basics.
